The LORD goes out to fight “as He fights in the day of battle”, and His feet stand on the Mount of Olives, “east of Jerusalem”, which splits to form “a great valley”. They flee as they “fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah”, which Amos 1:1 uses to date his book. Keil and Pusey note that the Hebrew text reads with you, where the ancient versions and the Berean read “with Him”.
