9 notes on this verseThat glorious name of his speaks him a God giving being to his word by the performance of it, and therefore to the patriarchs, who lived by faith in a promise not yet performed, he was not known by his name Jehovah, Exod. vi. But, as he is Jehovah in making good his promise, so he is in making good his threatenings.
