on Proverbs 23:24-25
"The father of a righteous man will greatly rejoice" answers the promise of verse 15 from the other side. The next verse names father and mother together and then names the mother a second time, "may she who gave you birth rejoice."

The verse names father and mother together and then names the mother again by her act of giving birth. Bede reads it spiritually. God the Father rejoices in the believer's righteousness, and the Church, the believer's mother, rejoices with him.

Righteousness is true wisdom; those who do good so well for themselves.
