A processional of triumph: 'Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered', the words of the ark's setting out (Numbers 10:35). A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God; he setteth the solitary in families. Sinai quaked; kings of armies flee; 'thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led away captives; thou hast received gifts among men': Paul reads the Ascension there (Ephesians 4:8). 'Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden.' Kingdoms of the earth, sing praises unto God.
