So King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem
on 2 Chronicles 12:9-11
Shishak seizes the treasures of the temple and the palace, “He took everything, including the gold shields that Solomon had made”. Rehoboam makes “bronze shields in their place,” as 1 Kings 14:27-28 records. The gold of Solomon's glory is answered in bronze, and the text states the decline in objects.

The shields came out only when the king went up to the house of the LORD. Each time the guards returned them to the guardroom. Clarke calls such shields the mark of the king's bodyguard, and says Alexander formed his Argyraspides in imitation of this Eastern display.
