on 1 Chronicles 27:3-9
Benaiah is the man already known from the mighty men, and verse 6 says he “was mighty among the Thirty and was over the Thirty”. Asahel heads the fourth division, though he died by Abner's hand at the start of David's reign. The honor passes to his son Zebadiah.

Shamhuth the Izrahite commanded the fifth division of 24,000 men. The Targum Adam Clarke cites calls the fifth month Ab. Each division served one month in the year, and the turn of Shamhuth came in the fifth.
