Psalms 146— Hebrew word study · with the Hebrew tradition

1Hallelujah! Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
3Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save.
Radak on Psalms 146:3
אל תבטחו. "Do not trust":, as Jeremiah said, "and from them their heart departs" (Jeremiah:5). If one trusts in a person, they should place the primary trust in God, who puts it in the heart of the generous person to help. The idea is repeated with different words: "in whom there is no help," meaning that if it is not God's will, a person cannot save his fellow from distress.

Praiseworthy is he in whose help is the God of Jacob, for the Holy One, blessed be He, promised him (Gen.:15): “Behold I am with you, and I shall guard You, etc., and I shall return you.” Now why is He praiseworthy?

6the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He remains faithful forever.
7He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free,
8the LORD opens the eyes of the blind, the LORD lifts those who are weighed down, the LORD loves the righteous.
9The LORD protects foreigners; He sustains the fatherless and the widow, but the ways of the wicked He frustrates.
10The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelujah!
