26And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the Lord.

Judah's sin is engraved with a pen of iron and the point of a diamond on the tablet of the heart and the horns of the altars. Two men, two root systems: 'Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm' (a heath in the desert) and 'Blessed is the man that trusteth in Jehovah… he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,' unanxious in the year of drought (17:5-8). Between them stands the diagnosis: 'The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?': answered at once by 'I, Jehovah, search the heart.' The chapter ends preaching sabbath at the city gates.
