the villages with their fields
on Nehemiah 11:25-36
The chapter widens from Jerusalem to "the villages with their fields" (11:25). Judah's towns run from Kiriath-arba, the old name of Hebron, "from Beersheba all the way to the Valley of Hinnom". Benjamin's run from Geba through Michmash and Anathoth to "Lod, and Ono" and "the Valley of the Craftsmen".
