The singers had "an ordinance regulating their daily activities" by "a command from the king," the Persian court supporting Israel's worship. Pethahiah was "the king’s agent in every matter concerning the people."

Ziha is the first house named among the temple servants at 7:46, and Gill counts Ziha and Gishpa as the principal men of that order. The temple servants on Ophel had repaired the wall opposite the Water Gate at 3:26. Barnes calls Ophel the southern spur of the temple hill.
