Translate: And along the front of them - like (literally as the appearance of) the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they and as broad as they, and (like) all their goings out, and like their fashions, and like their doors, even so were the doors of the chambers which were toward the south; (with) a door at the head of the way, the way of the wall adjoined eastward as one entereth into them (the chambers).

the entrance on the east side
on Ezekiel 42:9-12
The south side mirrors the north: chambers along the wall of the outer court, and the same length and width, “with similar exits and dimensions”. The sanctuary is ordered down to its storerooms, north answering south. The details stand in the text for the reader who wants them.

just like the chambers that were on the north
Albert Barnes translates the verse as a full list: the same length and breadth, the same exits, fashions and doors as the north block. Both blocks serve one purpose. Verses 13 and 14 name it, as places for the priests to eat the most holy offerings and change their garments.

The Church Fathers1 voice
"And there was an entrance under these treasuries from the east for those who entered from the outer court: in the width of the courtyard of the eastern way before the separate building. And there were before the building treasuries, and a road in front of their face like the treasuries, which were on the northern side, according to their length, and thus their width.

How the passage was read
What the Jewish commentators add
And the way before them there was a road before these chambers whose width [was the same as] the space of the Court: fifty cubits. Its appearance was the same as that of the pathway to the chambers that were on the northern side, mentioned above (verse 4).
