on Proverbs 2:5-6
The line “then you will discern the fear of the LORD” answers the conditions. The fear of the LORD is here the reward of a diligent search. “For the LORD gives wisdom” grounds the search in a giver, and the seeking is answered “from His mouth,” from outside the seeker.

The LORD gives wisdom as a gift, and knowledge comes from His own mouth. Bede reads the verse of the eternal Wisdom, like the Wisdom of Sirach 24:3 who comes from the mouth of the Most High. James 1:5 promises wisdom to all who ask.
