He who walks with the wise will become wise
on Proverbs 13:20-22
“He who walks with the wise will become wise,” but “the companion of fools will be destroyed” by the company he keeps. The cluster closes on generations: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” but “the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous”.

Sinners chase evil, and John Gill says the evil of punishment chases them in turn until it overtakes them. Judgment seems to linger, yet it moves at full speed. The righteous are repaid with prosperity.
