Verse 6 dates this offering to Mount Sinai, where Exodus 29:38-42 had commanded it. Tamid, the word rendered regular, governs the chapter, as every feast is laid on it.

The evening lamb repeats the morning one exactly. John Calvin says the daily rite reminded Israel to keep God before their eyes at their daily food. Matthew Henry draws an application for Christian readers, that they should at least pray every morning and every evening.
