6 notes on this verseIn Ezekiel's temple-service, which points at gospel times, the sabbath offerings were to be six lambs and a ram, with their meat-offerings, and drink-offerings ( Ezek. xlvi. 4, 5 ), to intimate not only the continuance, but the advancement, of sabbath sanctification in the days of the Messiah. on Numbers 28:9-10
No Sabbath burnt offering had been commanded before this verse, as Barnes and Jamieson, Fausset and Brown each note, and the day doubles the daily lambs, the same rite at twice the measure. Ezekiel 46:4 gives "six unblemished male lambs and an unblemished ram" for the Sabbath in the temple vision. Matthew Henry reads that increase as Sabbath keeping enlarged rather than ended.

Matthew Henry notes that the Hebrew reads the burnt offering of the sabbath in its sabbath. Each week's offering belonged to its own day. Henry draws from this that one sabbath's duty is not to be put off to another. John Calvin says the seventh day was given a distinctive mark because it was dedicated to God.
