The burning is dated “On the tenth day of the fifth month,” and Jewish tradition mourns it on the ninth of Av. Nebuzaradan “burned down the house of the LORD, the royal palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem.” Some of the poorest are left, as 39:10 records.
