6 notes on this verseFrom the ground unto above the door - The temple was thirty cubits high, 1Ki 6:2, the gate was fourteen cubits, chap. Eze 40:48. The palm trees and the cherubim were the same height as the gate or door. The windows were above the door.

Carved cherubim and palm trees alternate on every wall, and each cherub has two faces, a man's and a young lion's. Solomon's temple carried the same pairing (1 Kings 6:29). A guardian creature beside a living tree recalls the Eden language this book used at chapter 28.

Adam Clarke sets the carvings as high as the doorway, with the windows above them. Solomon's walls carried the same cherubim and palm trees, with open flowers added (1 Kings 6:29). Ezekiel names only the cherubim and palms.
