4 notes on this verseThou shalt make boards - These formed what might be called the walls of the tabernacle, and were made of shittim wood, the acacia Nilotica, which Dr. Shaw says grows here in abundance. To have worked the acacia into these boards or planks, the Israelites must have had sawyers, joiners, etc., among them; but how they got the tools is a question.

Under the curtains stands a frame of acacia boards, each ten cubits high and set upright. Every board rests in two silver sockets, and Exodus 38:27 says where that silver came from, the hundred talents of atonement money gathered at half a shekel a man and cast at a talent to a socket. The frame of the dwelling place stands on ransom money.
