Abel-maim - or, “Abel-beth-maachah” 1Ki 15:20. It was one of the towns most exposed to attack when an invader entered Israel from the north, and was taken from Pekah by Tiglath-pileser 2Ki 15:29. Store cities - See 1Ki 9:19 note.

on 2 Chronicles 16:2-4
Asa answers by taking “the silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace” to buy Ben-hadad. Chronicles has already shown Asa defeating Zerah's far larger army by relying on the LORD, so the reader carries the contrast Hanani will name.

Abel-maim is the city 1 Kings 15:20 calls Abel-beth-maachah. Barnes notes it lay among the cities most exposed to an invader from the north, and Tiglath-pileser took it from Pekah at 2 Kings 15:29. Ben-hadad sent his commanders against the northern cities of Israel.

The blessing of God which manifestly rested at this time on the kingdom of Judah, the signal victory of Asa, the freedom and purity of religious worship, and the fame of the late national covenant, were regarded with great interest throughout Israel, and attracted a constantly increasing number of emigrants to Judah.
