The council convenes again, and Jehovah says Job 'still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.' Satan raises the stake ('Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life') and Job is struck with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown. He takes a potsherd to scrape himself and sits among the ashes. His wife says, 'Dost thou still hold fast thine integrity? renounce God, and die.' He answers, 'shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?' Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar come and sit seven days in silence.
