Strong's Concordance
This index holds every Hebrew and Greek word behind your English Bible. Search for a word, or open a letter and read the words that begin with it.
Summary
This is the full index of the words the Bible was written in. Each entry opens that word's own page, with its meaning, every verse it stands in, and the forms it takes.
- An H number is a Hebrew word of the Old Testament; a G number is a Greek word of the New.
- The numbers are James Strong's, given to every word in 1890, and the whole site uses them as keys.
- The box takes three keys: the number, the word in English letters, and the word in its own script.
- The letter strips open the Hebrew and Greek words that begin with each letter.
- Counts are of the STEP Bible tagged text, which is the text this site reads.

Three different numbers stand on this page, and each is counted its own way. The band at the top counts entries, meaning headwords in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance (1890), which is where the H and G numbers come from. The number under a letter counts the headwords whose unpointed spelling begins with that letter. The number on an entry card, written with a times sign, counts occurrences in the STEP Bible tagged Hebrew and Greek text (STEPBible.org, CC BY 4.0), once for each tagged word. Other tools count occurrences under other rules and report other honest numbers.
