Yet a little sleep, a little slumber
on Proverbs 24:33-34
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep, and the poverty that follows as one that travelleth and as an armed man repeat 6:10-11 word for word, the collection's own refrain closing the chapter exactly as it closed the earlier warning to the sluggard. Gill reads the repetition as deliberate rather than careless, the same field observed and the same lesson drawn twice because the danger it names never stops recurring.
