Job replies to Eliphaz. Weigh my vexation against the sand of the seas: 'the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof my spirit drinketh up.' The wild ass does not bray over grass; his cry has a cause. He asks one thing only: that God would let loose his hand and cut him off, and still he would not have denied the words of the Holy One. Then the wound that stings worst. His friends are a brook that runs full with ice and vanishes in the heat, while the caravans of Tema and Sheba look for water and are ashamed. Teach me, and I will hold my peace.
