The man of verse 6 has “six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot”, twenty-four in all. The account in 2 Samuel 21:20-22 counts him among the descendants of Rapha in Gath. “Jonathan the son of David’s brother Shimei” kills him when he taunts Israel.
