When we combine this testimony of Paul's with the other examples given in the book of Acts, it is reasonable to conclude that Paul first began to speak with tongues when Ananias laid his hands upon him for the infilling of the Spirit.

Notice that Paul assumes the evil day is coming. I do not believe this refers to the Great Tribulation. It means that every Christian is going to go through his own particular evil day.

Really, Ezra had two alternatives there: the carnal or the spiritual. He could have resorted to the carnal and asked for that band of soldiers and horsemen; it would not have been sinful, but it would have been on a low level of faith.

Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
Jesus crucified is the door. Jesus resurrected is the shepherd. But if you want the resurrected Christ as your shepherd, you have to come by the crucified Christ, who is the door. Only those who come by the crucified Christ have the resurrected Christ as their shepherd.

Notice that Matthew has no doubt who is the person referred to in Isaiah 53, for he applies it to Jesus. Notice also that Matthew, who was a Jew and understood Hebrew, had no doubt that the application of those verses in Isaiah 53 is physical.

About this voice
Peter Derek Vaughan Prince (August 14, 1915 – September 24, 2003) was a British Bible teacher and one of the most influential charismatic figures of the 20th century. Educated at Eton and King's College Cambridge in classical languages and philosophy (M.A.; Fellow of King's College, 1940), Prince served as a hospital orderly in the British Army during WWII, where he was converted in 1941 in a Pentecostal-influenced Baptist setting. He served as a missionary educator in Kenya in the 1950s, pastored briefly in London, and from the early 1960s built an international Bible-teaching ministry based first in Florida and later in Jerusalem. He was an early figure in the Charismatic Renewal of the 1960s–1970s and became briefly associated with the "Shepherding Movement" under Bob Mumford, Charles Simpson, Don Basham, and Ern Baxter — an association he later publicly repented of (1986). His final years were spent in Israel; he is buried in Jerusalem. His teaching catalog includes 50+ books and over 600 audio teaching series translated into 100+ languages; Derek Prince Ministries continues his legacy.
