The Lord stands beside the altar and orders the sanctuary struck from the top down, and no hiding place is left: dig into Sheol, climb to heaven, hide in Carmel's caves, lie on the sea floor, and the hand finds them there. Israel's exodus is set beside the migrations of Ethiopians, Philistines, and Syrians: election is not entitlement. Israel will be sifted among the nations as grain in a sieve, yet not the least kernel shall fall. Then the sunrise ending: 'In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen' (James cites it at the Jerusalem council (Acts 15)) and Israel replanted on their land, never again plucked up.
