Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD
on Proverbs 11:1-3
“Dishonest scales” name the marketplace itself, where a merchant might keep two sets of stones, light ones for selling and heavy ones for buying. The LORD calls the practice “an abomination” and the honest weight “His delight,” and pride and disgrace come as cause and effect.

Integrity goes ahead of the upright like a guide, and perversity turns on the faithless and destroys them. The verse follows the honest scales of verse 1, where Israel's growing trade tested a merchant's integrity. Each man's character leads him somewhere.
