This site's exposition

All the posts around the courtyard shall have silver bands

on Exodus 27:17-19

Every post carries “silver bands,” and Exodus 38:25 to 38:28 traces that silver to the half shekel each man paid when counted. The linen wall stands “five cubits high,” above a man's head, screening the altar from anyone outside.
