A feast-day summons: 'Sing aloud unto God our strength… blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast-day': a statute for Israel from Joseph's going out of Egypt. God speaks: 'I removed his shoulder from the burden… open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.' Then heaven's grief: 'But my people hearkened not to my voice… so I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart.' 'Oh that my people would hearken unto me!': enemies subdued soon, and 'with honey out of the rock would I satisfy thee.'
