Read the rest, the context and the outline

Lady Wisdom's great self-portrait, answering chapter 7's seductress. She cries at the gates: her instruction is better than silver; by her kings reign; she loves them that love her. Then the deep past: 'Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old… When he established the heavens, I was there… I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him', the passage the church has long read toward Christ our wisdom (with the Arian controversy over 8:22 handled on the Christ Our Wisdom study). 'Whoso findeth me findeth life.'
