A father hands on what his own father gave him: 'Get wisdom, get understanding… Wisdom is the principal thing.' Two paths diverge sharply, the path of the righteous 'is as the dawning light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day'; the way of the wicked is as darkness. The chapter's crown jewel: 'Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.' Put away a wayward mouth; ponder the path of thy feet.
