'When he fled from Saul, in the cave.' 'Be merciful unto me, O God… in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge, until these calamities be overpast.' He lies among lions; men's teeth are spears; they dug a pit and fell into it themselves. Twice the refrain rings: 'Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.' 'My heart is fixed, O God… I will awake the dawn', the fixed heart singing in a cave.
