Assyria's last great king, sacker of No-Amon (Thebes) in 663 BC — the precedent Nahum turns on Nineveh itself (Nah 3:8); likely the "great and noble Osnappar" of Ezra 4:10. His Nineveh library preserved much of Mesopotamian literature.
