Dr. Rob Reimer
Reimer's Soul Care framework articulates seven transformational principles: (1) securing your identity in Christ, (2) repentance, (3) breaking family-sin-patterns / generational issues, (4) forgiving others, (5) healing wounds, (6) overcoming fears, (7) deliverance from demonic oppression.
Short bio
Dr. Rob Reimer is an American pastor, author, and the founder of Renewal International — a ministry dedicated to equipping believers, pastors, and leaders for spiritual renewal and "fullness of the Holy Spirit." He serves as Professor of Pastoral Theology at Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS, New York). He earned a B.A. in English from King's College, M.Div. from Alliance Theological Seminary, and Doctorate in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. His operational ecclesial home is the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) — same denominational tradition that A.W. Tozer (Tier 1) served. *Soul Care: 7 Transformational Principles for a Healthy Soul* (2016) is his signature work; subsequent titles include *River Dwellers* (charismatic-renewal teaching). The Soul Care framework has been received with both substantial uptake (renewal-stream evangelical-pastoral contexts) and substantive critique (Reformed-evangelical reviewers including *Pastoral Theology* and *Before You Quit* publishing detailed contestations).
What they believed
- Identity in Christ vs Identity as Sinner — Soul Care's first principle is "securing your identity" — Reimer's framework places identity-in-Christ as foundational for inner-healing and deliverance. Functionally aligned with the ★★★ Bevere/Winship/Johnson stream while operating in different ecclesial context.
- Cessation — Continuationist within C&MA renewal-stream framework.
- Deliverance Ministry Today — Affirmed substantively; deliverance is part of the Soul Care framework's seventh principle. Believers can have demonic oppression in unsurrendered areas requiring specific Spirit-led deliverance. Operative within C&MA evangelical-renewal-stream rather than charismatic-Pentecostal-NAR-stream framework.
- Generational Curses — Affirmed within the Soul Care framework's third principle ("breaking family sin patterns"). Functionally adjacent to Prince's generational-curses framework with C&MA pastoral-context application.
