Full Rev 2:18–29. Title echo: "eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like unto burnished brass" (2:18) re-cites Rev 1:14–15 exactly. City history: dyers' guild city (Lydia of Acts 16, "a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira"). Commendation: works, love, faith, ministry, patience, and growing in good works ("thy last works are more than the first", 2:19). Rebuke: tolerating "the woman Jezebel," a self-styled prophetess who "teacheth and seduceth" into fornication and idol-meat (2:20). Promise: authority over the nations (Ps 2 echo) + "the morning star" (2:28).

Most of Christ's seven self-descriptions in Rev 1 pick up something the matching city would have felt; a few, like Sardis's "seven Spirits and seven stars," come straight from the vision itself with no local hook. The seven overcomer promises echo Edenic restoration: the canonical bracket reasserts itself.
