The Lamb With the Great Horns
Birds of prey join beasts in tearing at the sheep until a great horn grows on one ram and rallies them despite constant attack, until the Lord of the sheep arrives in wrath, strikes the earth, and sets up a throne where sealed books are opened and every shepherd and fallen star is judged and cast into a fiery abyss. The old house is dismantled and a new house "greater and loftier than that first" is raised in its place, into which all the scattered sheep and even the beasts and birds return in peace; a white bull is born, then a lamb, and that lamb "became a great animal" with great black horns that all creatures fear and honor.
- Revelation 20:12 : "The dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books" is the same opened-books judgment this chapter stages before the Lord of the sheep.
- Revelation 21:2 : The new Jerusalem "coming down from God out of heaven" answers this chapter's new house, "greater and loftier than that first," raised after the old one is folded away.
- Revelation 5:6 : A slain Lamb standing at the center of heaven's worship stands beside this chapter's lamb who "became a great animal" that every creature fears and honors: a resemblance, not a claimed source.
