Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men, And found no dwelling-place: Wisdom returned to her place, And took her seat among the angels.

Wisdom Finds No Home Among Men
In a short poem, Wisdom "found no place where she might dwell" on earth and returned to take her seat among the angels in heaven. In her place, "unrighteousness went forth from her chambers" and settled among men instead, "as rain in a desert and dew on a thirsty land."
- Proverbs 8:4 : Wisdom's search for a dwelling among "the children of men" stands beside personified Wisdom's appeal to "the sons of man" in Proverbs.
- John 1:11 : "He was in the world... and his own received him not" echoes the same shape as Wisdom coming to men and finding no welcome.
