Rev. Owen Murphy

Rev. Owen Murphy is an American evangelical revival historian, author, and ministry leader (CenterMark Ministries; verify current status). He is principally known for his documentation, study, and contemporary teaching of the Hebrides Revival of 1949–1952 — the Lewis-Harris (Outer Hebrides, Scotland) outpouring under the ministry of Duncan Campbell that saw 20,000+ conversions in three months from a starting point of five men praying in a barn. Murphy's books include The Fire of God's Presence: Powerful Lessons from the Hebrides Revival (with John Wesley Adams, 2000s), When God Stepped Down from Heaven: Revival in the Hebrides (2017), and God, Fire & Revival: Supernatural Scenes & Enduring Principles, The Hebrides Revival (with Adams, 2010s; expanded edition of The Fire of God's Presence).
