The life told as one accountfrom this site's record
Fred Francis Bosworth played the cornet in a Michigan town band before his health broke and, by his account, was healed under Maria Woodworth-Etter's ministry. He was preaching in Dallas in 1911 when a mob dragged him from a train and beat him for holding meetings that Black people attended. He helped found the Assemblies of God in 1914 and then, four years later, quietly left it: he could not teach that tongues is the only evidence of Spirit baptism, and he would not fight about it. His book on divine healing has stayed in print ever since, and his Chicago radio broadcasts drew mail by the sackful in the 1920s. In his seventies he went back into the field with the post-war healing campaigns and then to Africa, and he died at eighty-one at home, having told his family he had seen the Lord and was ready.
