The life, in order
The life told as one accountfrom this site's record
Eugene Bach is the pseudonym of an American-born member of the Chinese underground church and the leader of the Back to Jerusalem mission movement. He was trained in US military special operations and served two tours in the Persian Gulf and Asia-Pacific region in counterterrorism and security roles before transitioning to underground-church mission work. For 15+ years he has worked with Chinese underground churches establishing mission bases in closed countries including Iraq, Syria, and across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Leaving Buddha: A Tibetan Monk's Encounter with the Living God (2019, with Tenzin Lahkpa) is his best-known publication — a co-authored testimony of Lahkpa, a former Tibetan Buddhist monk who escaped China across the Himalayas and was converted to Christianity through encounter with Jesus. The book's registry-significance is principally as comparative-religion testimony (Buddhism-to-Christianity conversion narrative) and as documentation of Back to Jerusalem mission work. The pseudonymous-author dimension is operationally significant — Bach's identity is protected because of his ongoing underground-church mission work. The dossier is therefore primarily about the work and the testimony rather than personal-biographical detail.
